About Coffee Hex

Welcome! My name is Lauren and I started Coffee Hex to bridge my two lifelong passions: Writing and coffee. My life has been one long love affair with coffee. I think I had my first (small) cup at around age 13. I was instantly mesmerized.

In my early 20s, I spent five years working as a barista across three different coffee houses in California while pursuing English Literature and Poetry degrees from UC Berkeley. I’ve spent the last 10 years as a professional writer, working my way up to a content leader. I love my day job, but I’ve remained a passionate coffee hobbyist since day one behind the bar.

I created Coffee Hex as a celebration of how reliably powerful and comforting coffee is in our daily lives. Here, that celebration means helping you learn more about coffee and try different ways to enjoy it.

Coffee, especially espresso, is equal parts art and science. To me, it’s alchemical; an otherworldly charm in life, especially during early mornings (gross), long workdays, and tough conversations.

What gets you through it all? Coffee.

I hope Coffee Hex helps you brew more spellbinding java and answers your questions on all things magical beans!
